About me

Hello, I'm Hermann Kao, a passionate fullstack developer with a strong focus on creating efficient, scalable, and user-friendly applications. Togolese 🇹🇬, based in France 🇫🇷, I specialize in web and mobile development with expertise in the JavaScript ecosystem.

Professional Path

My professional journey has been shaped by diverse experiences, most notably my role at Nobo (formerly Palladium) where I've grown from an intern to a fullstack developer. During these years, I've had the opportunity to work on challenging projects from migrating codebases to monorepos, developing comprehensive back-office management systems, and optimizing mobile applications for better performance.

What excites me about technology is the constant evolution and the opportunity to solve complex problems. I thrive in environments where I can leverage modern technologies like TypeScript, React, React Native, and Kubernetes to build solutions that make a difference in users' lives.

Technical Expertise

My technical toolkit includes:

  • Frontend: React, React Native, NextJS, SvelteKit, SwiftUI

  • Backend: Node.js, NestJS, Express.js, Spring Boot

  • Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Argo CD

  • Data Management: GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Prisma

  • Performance & Monitoring: Sentry, MMKV, Tanstack Query

I believe in the power of clean, maintainable code and robust development processes. Throughout my career, I've focused on optimizing not just the applications I build, but also the workflows that create them.

Beyond Coding

My technical journey is complemented by my engagement in humanitarian efforts. I've participated in initiatives to help isolated seniors during the COVID crisis, contributed to scientific outreach programs in Morocco, and taught hygiene practices in remote areas of Togo. These experiences have given me a broader perspective on how technology can serve human needs.

When I'm not coding, I enjoy driving, hiking, and photography - particularly capturing automobiles, nature, and wildlife. These activities help me maintain balance and often inspire creative problem-solving approaches in my technical work.

Looking Forward

Currently completing my Master of Science in Software Architecture at ETNA, I'm continuously expanding my knowledge and skills. I'm particularly interested in the intersection of user experience, system architecture, and performance optimization.

I created this blog as a space to share insights, experiences, and technical discoveries. Whether you're a fellow developer, a tech enthusiast, or just curious about the digital world, I hope you find value in my content.

Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or check out my projects on GitHub or Gitlab. I'm always open to interesting conversations and collaborative opportunities.
